I finally got the owner of the Finale system I work on to drag a rack system containing some nice Onkyo dual cassette recorders into the room with the computer, and ran a cord from the sound output device on the MAC to the tape deck. It makes a perfectly acceptable recording, either from a Finale file or from one which I have converted to .aif.
Thanks for all your attempts to help me. I may still follow the advice of a couple of people who have suggested that I add the piano keyboard to the OMS (or is it the MIDI; I must check my notes) setup as an output device so that sound will come out of the piano. This would make it possible to plug into the tape deck without having to unplug the speaker system for the computer. So, we won't win any Grammy awards for the fine recordings I will be making, but it works. Huzzah!
