>No-one in Australia uses Score or Igor. Effectively that's true, Matthew, but there are a couple of copyists on the MAGA (Music Arranger's Guild of Australia) list who use Score. It seemed to be in vogue in Perth a while ago as well. >After making your choice, and after you have some good (and varied) examples of your work to show people, then you should join MAGA, and also contact Julie Simonds at Symphony Australia. I couldn't agree more. Mind you there are MAGA arrangers who list software such as Cubase Score and Cakewalk as their working medium, so there is scope out there for copyists who know the finer points of music engraving. My copy of Cakewalk Audio Pro gets a fair workout as a (very good) sequencer, but I can't believe that any musician could accept the very basic output which it produces. It's not even in the same league as the sort of work which I used to do by hand, and which was favourably commented upon by the aforementioned Julie Simonds when she was at the Australian Music Centre. As a footnote, I'm pleased to note that Digest #122 is back to its normal length.
