Dear all -

I'm coming out of lurk mode to ask a question - once again, I apologize if
this topic has been handled before.

Is there a way to copy the music from layers 1 in one staff to layer 2 in
another staff? I want to use this to combine two staves (such as clarinet 1
and clarinet 2) while still retaining the visual independence of the music.
"Implode" combines them in such a way that it is not apparent when (for
instance) the clarinet 2 is resting, yet clarinet 1 is playing. Implode
also can change the rhythms - if cl. 1 is playing straight 8th notes, but
cl. 2 is playing quarter notes, they combine to form 8th notes, with the cl.
2 note appearing only on the first 8th note.

While I'm at it (and I'm sure this topic has been handled before, but I
can't remember the answer) - what is the difference between layers and
voices, if any, and how is it useful/detrimental?

I get the digests, so I would appreciate a direct response as well as to the
list, if possible, to either e-mail address given below. Thanks!
