I don't see this the same way, actually. I have the feeling the confusion lies in the name "page format" in Finale. What it really is, is the work space. I don't know Page maker, but I assume there is probably a setting that allows you to make the paper size of the printer the default work space. I would still prefer the way Finale works in this respect. However, a warning if the workspace doesn't fit on the printer's page size setting would be good. This is the way that Corel Draw does it.
