I don't think he was trying to suppress a key change. I think he had a piece with one verse in one key and second verse in another key. Since the percussion was the same for each verse, he used Mass Mover to copy the percussion notes from the first verse to the second. Since the key of the first verse was included in the copy, it inadvertently applied the 1st verse key to the 2nd verse in ALL parts.
