Well, I've never seen a PostScript error like that myself. But that may be because of the way I set things up in the Print dialog error reporting panel. Usually I get something with the "%" symbol and some text in it (because that's the way PostScript errors are reported). The rest of this post is \pure speculation\ on my part. There is a Macintosh system error -8 which signals that no debugger is installed. If it was not a real PostScript error but a system error, then I'd be lead to believe (by a 'round-about method of deduction) that: 1. The LaserWriter/Printer software has a part missing or currently not activated (Extensions Manager). Maybe double-check through the Chooser that LW 8 is selected and that the old Desktop Printing extension has been removed (the one from 8.5 is apparently not compatible with the 8.6 OS). 2. Finale 2001 might do better with a newer version of Printing software (should be available through: <http://www.info.apple.com/support/downloads.html>. 3. It might be good to manually backup/delete all Finale related fonts in your Fonts folder and re-install them from the Finale installer. There is also a font pack updater available at codamusic.com. 4. Check that you've reset the Printing Setup settings. 5. Might need to update some other library (InterfaceLib) containing some code that the newer Finale needs (highly unlikely). * The site just mentioned in another post by J. Scott Jones has info on PostScript errors: http://users.belgacom.net/prepresspanic/database/solveerror.htm Regards, Philip Aker http://www.aker.ca _______________________________________________ Finale mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://mail.shsu.edu/mailman/listinfo/finale
