Finale allows a lot of things that don't make sense in most situation. But this also allows for a lot of tweaking, work-arounds, tricks etc. I can think of numerous situations where ties to a different pitch makes room for tweaks that otherwise wouldn't be possible. Finale is by no means perfect, but the kind of thing you are asking for usually gets in the way more than it helps. Johannes PS: This list prefers non-html mail. If you are going to become a regular poster, perhaps you could change your mailer settings accordingly. Knowing that you are using AOL there seem to be some manuals online to help you to configure AOL to do this. Some people do not seem to have much success with this. In that case you may want to consider using another mail account for the Finale List.
