Since unplugging my ZIP drive about six months ago, I've had to plug it in only once (after which I promptly unplugged it.) The last 100 CD-R's I bought at Staples cost me only 15 cents each (after rebate). With a capacity of 640-700 megabytes per CD, that comes to 64-70 gigabytes of storage for about $15.00. Compare that to blank ZIP disks of similar price, which hold only 100 megabytes, and it is clear why I have abandoned ZIP drives for CD-R's ... (My last CD-RW drive--also at Staples--cost less than $50.00, and works like a charm.)
