Regarding energy saver settings ...

When I first installed my current mother board, I had problems with the
computer locking up when left unattended for extended periods. I found
that I had to disable the energy saving settings in THREE places:

1. In the BIOS (by pressing Delete when it boots up): I completely
disabled all "environmental" settings. (Note: different computers have
different ways of "getting into" the BIOS. If all else fails, press lots
or random keys as the computer "counts up." That will cause a keyboard
error and throw you into the BIOS settings, where you can check the
environmental or energy saving settings ... if they exist.)

2. In the Windows settings (from the control panel).

3. I also disabled all screen savers.

I haven't had a problem since.
