Last Sunday night I was the (piano and organ) accompanist for a big
choral program. Since beginning to read Powell's book, I noticed how the
page turns occurred in the various pieces. Two pieces had ALL the page
turns during the piano interludes, where any skipped notes would stick
out "like a sore thumb." (I had to visit Kinko's and make performance
copies of certain pages to avoid the page turns.)

I noticed that on others, the page turns occurred either during choral
sections (where I could omit a note or two in one hand), or where one
hand had a two-beat rest or sustained figure that allowed a quick turn.

I don't know how publishers feel about attention paid to page turns, but
THIS performer noticed them last week!
