Hi again. Here is a more refined view of my problem. I cannot set channel output for patch changes in expressions. The predefined output channel for a new expression is usually the channel assigned to that staff in the instrument list. If I try to change it, the changes don't hold on saving. Everything else about the expression saves correctly, including the bank and patch numbers.
The problem persists with change from FreeMIDI to OMS. The coda tech rep didn't know anything else to suggest, except to use the MIDI tool for patch changes. I guess what I'll do is follow that advice for patch changes that require channel changes. I know that (at least the Mac version of) Finale has always been somewhat buggy concerning MIDI playback--should I just not expect Finale to drive a 64 channel studio effectively? Anyone out there with any help???
