The lengthy thread about freaking lyrics leads me to make an nomination
for the biggest shortcoming (bar NONE) of Finale:

THE DOCUMENTATION!

I have no problem with Coda (or any other software developer, for that
matter) writing their software in any way they wish. I do think that
how the software works should be well defined in the documentation, so
that a user can see how to accomplish things like moving music without
moving the lyrics.

It is a demonstrable fact that the lyrics tool works differently if one
edits existing text via "type into score" than if one edits existing
text with the "edit lyrics" option of the menu. I think I understand
why this is so, whether it should be so is another question altogether,
but, IMO, there is absolutely no excuse for the fact that the
differences in the results of the editing methods are not mentioned in
the documentation!
