Using the Staff Tool, select only the measures you wish to have appear as slash notation (on my MAC: click the first one, shift click the last one) and choose Slash Notation from the Apply Staff Styles menu. There's a built-in shortcut you can use instead of the menu. On the MAC it's the letter "S". You can use this with Select Partial Measures as well.
