Oh, well, xpost then -- hadn't seen this before my last reply.  Apparently
you *would* recommend that contemporary composers and arrangers write for
the bass clarinet in bass clef, if they are working in Germany or if their
work is to be performed by a German ensemble. I was under the impression
that this practice was considered obsolete, even in Germany.
