Um, I think Philip was making a joke about little pointy metal staples as food, and about trying to eat 1.1 cups of staples. I don't think he meant to downplay the effort to feed hungry people.
Yes indeed Aaron,

A pale attempt at humor and I do respect the efforts of those involved in feeding the hungry. I think I've been reaching out for light-heartedness as an antidote to all the heavy news about the Beltway Sniper and Russian Theater. That stuff's definitely not funny.
