What is it that you want to do with multiple articulations? With the articulation tool, you can select several artics belonging to the same note and move them (but not artics belonging to different notes). With the selection tool, you can only grab one artic at a time. You can position artics belonging to different notes by using Mass Mover and Change | Articulation Assignments.

This was introduced a couple of versions ago, as an answer to Sibelius, where you can just click on the object you want rather than having to select the correct tool first. With the selection tool, you can select almost any object in the score. I find it most useful for going through a score and nudging smart shapes, expressions, and articulations without having to select the appropriate tool first. If you right click on an object with the selection tool, you get the same context menu that you would get by right-clicking with the appropriate tool. And if you double click an object with the selection tool, Finale selects the correct tool for that object and then selects the object's handle.

The implementation of this still isn't ideal. For example, you can only select one object at a time. I'd love to be able to select multiple objects, even of different types (mostly for positioning, since they wouldn't share any context menu items other than Delete).

Aaron.
