When you get to the page layout aspect of things, after you already have the music spacing in all the other measures as you want it and can turn off Automatic Spacing, you can simply make those measures with the repeated figurations that you have displaying as slash notation a lot smaller by dragging the barlines to the left.

Yes that works. I didn't know I could apply staff styles to partial measures
- very clever.

Anyway, the problem I now face is spacing: The measures with the slashes
space almost as large as if they had real notes in them. How can I fix this?
It seems the hidden notes still affect the spacing.

I have tried deselecting "Hidden Notes" in the Music Spacing options, and
selected "Ignore hidden layers" in the layer options.

How do I get Finale to ignore the notes when spacing?

Set up a staff style for alternate notation and apply at will. You
should not have to change anything you've already done. (The "%" masks
the entries that are there.)

I am working on a piece with lots of repeated figuration. I have already
entered it, but now decided I want the repeat symbol (the one that looks
almost like %) for each repeated figuration. This means measures with 8
32nds and 3 % symbols.
Is there an easy way to do this kind of conversion?
