Indeed, but I believe Tobias has already done this on the Windows side. (I don't use TGTools Win so I'm not certain, but I believe I've seen an expression sorter in the features list.) > Mass copying of text expressions is not my issue > (at least I don't think it is). Comments on this list and elsewhere lead me to believe that many users have not investigated Mass Copy as thoroughly as they should have. I would say it is my single most-used plugin. A general (and huge) advantage it has over Mass Mover/Edit is that it moves items (including meas-attached items like hairpins) from one part of a bar to another. Indeed, it operates irrespective of barlines. Another general (and huge) advantage is that it moves note-attached items from one partial measure region to another *without requiring you to move the notes themselves*. Indeed, it was this most annoying and unnecessary limitation of Finale that prompted me to write the plugin (along with Finale's inability to copy tuplet definitions). With respect to note-attached expressions, when Mass Copy moves them, it preserves the vertical positioning of the expression. Think about this while I say it again. It preserves the vertical positioning. By comparison, Mass Mover/Edit preserves the vertical offset from the notehead. While Finale's way is sometimes preferable, I find that 80% of the time preserving the actual vertical positioning is far better, especially if you know how to use TGTools Align/Move hotkeys to nudge them as necessary. Mass Copy's true power comes into play, however, with its horizontal and vertical replication capabilities. You can fuss to your heart's content on the positioning of exps and articulations on a single note (or rest: whole rest fermatas anyone?) and then copy that positioning to every staff in the stack and/or every note in some subsequent measure range with a single click. And because Mass Copy's source range stays in effect until you change it, you can leave the window open and continue to copy this stuff many, many moves later. (This works better on Win than Mac due to FinMac's poor implementation of modeless plugin dialogs. I'm hoping the Carbonized version will fix this.) > I have a small bit of down time before my next > deadline. I'll look into all your suggestions I presume your opera score has many staves and is therefore difficult to view all at once in scroll view. If this is the case (and if you work in scroll view), you will want to discover my Staff Sets plugin--another incredibly useful yet seemingly ignored tool. Indeed, it might even convert you over to scroll view if you haven't used it in the past. Finally, I can categorically state that TGTools Staff List Manager and also his shift optimizations feature could have saved you hours (by preserving the optimizations you already had) when you needed to delete or insert vast amounts of material into your opera score. -- Robert Patterson http://www.robertgpatterson.com _______________________________________________ Finale mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://mail.shsu.edu/mailman/listinfo/finale
