If it's at the very beginning of the piece, in addition to the text points outlined elsewhere, I would consider putting a rest at the beginning of the bar, i.e. as if 'filling in' the anacrusis, perhaps a rest with a pause on it. Maybe a phrasing mark to the first note of the next bar as well.
