Dear Listers:

Thanks a lot for your help with the mass articulation moving. However, now
I have a question regarding the interaction of articulations and slurs.

Mark said in his post about positioning,
>I would suggest that you shouldn't be eyeballing this at all, with or
>without grids. Use the articulation definition to define the correct
>position, and then use the metatool to place every articulation in its
>default position.

However, the articulation library I have devised works great for everything
except articulations that begin a slur. I find that articulations in their
default positions will usually collide with slurs, and it takes some manual
moving to fix that. Is there a setting I can use to make articulations
automatically avoid slurs, or is this an exception to the "don't eyeball it"
rule?

I thought about creating a new articulation that's set a different distance
from the notehead, but the slurs are all different so just one new
articulation won't work for every case. Also... I do now have TGTools and
the Patterson plug-ins at work, if those need to be used.
