Which tool are you using? Chord Tool? Naturally you will get into trouble when you need slashed figures like 5+ where the + goes through the 5's upper stroke. Or various stroked 6s. I think that's where a custom font is the only pleasing solution. I originally did figures with the chord tool, too, and even had a rather good input system using the Midi keyboard, but compared to a custom font with the lyrics tool it was very much inferior.
