Dear Johannes,

Check www.keypsan.com

They have a Mini Port Replicator that might be the solution for your first
problem. They also have the USB to serial adapter and both work with Mac OS
9 and X.

My advice to the second one, is to get one of those mini-hubs that have a
BNC port, and 4 or more of the other type (RJ45). You can add one to your
network for a small price.
