It is great when teachers have integrity and don't simply give kids copies of the full version to take home and copy off, as I discovered happened with one of my students at our Conservatorium, yesterday. But I don't think the teacher taught him how to use it!
I understand where Make Music is coming from with their copy protection. Also disturbed when I found that one of my piano students learnt from a teacher who went to a conference run by an Australian composer, bought one copy each of his terrific piano pieces, and now copies them off for her students. I would have thought that she might reflect on the fact that his pieces are enabling her to make a living, and might also enable him to make a living!
