Dear Friends: Since I have recently "broken my silence" as a longtime lurker on the list, I think you deserve to knowing what a librarian/anthropologist is doing posting on a music discussion list. Although it is not part of my job title, I also serve as the music bibliographer here at Weber State, where we have a fairly small but energetic music program. I have sung both casually and semi-professionally for many years and have taken a fair number of courses in theory, choral composition, and the vocal literature. I only began composing four years ago when my mother passed away. One of the last things she said to me was that she wished I had written down some of the many songs that I used to sing for her. This was my impetus to purchase Finale, which I have used to bring life to several hymns and simple hymn arrangments for use by my church and community choirs over the years. I have learned far more about Finale from reading the threads on this list than I could ever have on my own and am thus very grateful to all of you. It's not likely that you will see many more posts for me, although now that I've "broken the ice" I won't promise anything!
Thanks for taking the time to read this message. ----------------------------------------------------------- Dr. Wade Kotter Social Sciences Librarian Adjunct Faculty, Department of Sociology and Anthropology Stewart Library Weber State University 2901 University Circle Ogden, UT 84408-2901 Voice: 801-626-7458 FAX: 801-626-7045 [EMAIL PROTECTED] _______________________________________________ Finale mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://lists.shsu.edu/mailman/listinfo/finale
