Uh, as a pianist I would say that you have a number of problems with 
that statement:

1. Chopin isn't scary for pianists -- it's some of the easiest music 
to play because it's so incredibly pianistic.

2. One of the reasons Chopin isn't scary is that Chopin chooses 
spellings of notes that make sense to a pianist even when they often 
make hash of the actually voice leading.

People who are good at sight-reading find Chopin easy to sight-read 
in the keys Chopin notated it in. People who can't sightread aren't 
going to be helped by respellings.
