Aaron is correct. Upgrades (the things we charge you money for every year) do not require you to have last year's version installed. Updates (those things that we stick on the site for you to download for free) only require that you have the current version on your machine.
We also stopped uninstalling the fonts in 2k2 I think, so there would be no adverse effect on your fonts folder. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Aaron Sherber Sent: Thursday, February 26, 2004 8:11 AM To: Finale Groups; Finale Groups Subject: Re: [Finale] Upgrading Finale on Mac OSX At 09:01 AM 2/26/2004, Giovanni Andreani wrote: >I want to order the Finale 2004 upgrade from Fin 2003 for Mac. >My question is: do I have to install the first full version I purchased >(wich was fin 2001), install the k2 and k3 upgrades, then install the new k4 >upgrade? Assuming that things are the same for Mac as for Win, the answer is no. When you upgrade from a previous version of Finale, you get a special price, but the disk you get is a regular install disk -- it doesn't even ask for proof of the earlier versions. If you have no need for the earlier versions on your computer, you should actually uninstall them before installing Fin2004, since uninstalling them later might actually delete some things which you still need (like music fonts). Please note that this is different from the minor (and free) upgrades that Coda occasionally issues. When they come out with a 2004b or c, this gets applied directly over your existing Fin2004.
