That sounds like a rather weak reason to me. No offense to people who get the digest, but how hard is it to just create a mailbox folder and configure a filter? Besides, if you subscribe to the digest, you presumably know what you're getting into. Slow responses are part of the deal.

I'm not a digest subscriber, but I can understand those who are... some people may not want to be receiving emails all throughout the day unless they're responses to their own queries.


Anyhow, that drawback pales in comparison to the longstanding problem of the thousands of responses being lost because someone sends a private email when they meant to respond to the list. This is fixed now, and I couldn't be happier!

And this I'm genuinely happy about. It obviously overshadows the concern I mentioned, but keep in mind I was more playing devil's advocate than actually voicing an opinion I really cared about.
