Hi Bob,

You should set up staff styles for each transposing instrument, set to the appropriate chromatic transposition, then apply those styles to measures 1-80. (If it's just a standard big band with AATTB saxes, you will only need four staff styles -- one for the altos, one for the tenors, one for the bari, and one for the trumpets.) This will override any key-signature based transposition used in the staff attributes.

The remaining measures will use key signature transposition if that's what your staves are set to. And yes, you should change the key to C major for mm. 1-80.

Another question:

In my score, can I set all of my parts for chromatic transposition, put
everyone in the key of c C and hide the key signature for bars 1 - 80,
then go back to non chromatic transposition for the rest of the piece,
showing key signatures?

Thanks;

Bob Florence
