Hello,

But this save-as-unicode trick doesn`t work for special european characters
(all those different accents), at least the copy and paste in Finale. Is
there a difference with native japanese?

Unfortunately (at least, last time I checked), that requires a special
purchase of a Japanese version of Finale <<

No, it doesn't. I use Japanese in Finale, this is my work around: Enter the
Japanese text in Notepad. I'm on an English version of WindowsXP, but XP
supports Japanese input without additional fonts, software or keyboard.

Note: to get a white space enter 'Ctrl-space'.

Save the file as unicode.

Copy and paste the text in the Finale Lyrics window.

Good luck

David
