I am running OSX with Fin 2002b, and it was tough getting the MIDI working to begin with. Twice now, when I have opened an old file, the next time I start Finale it does not receive any data from the piano. Of course I had a rush job, so I ended up doing it in Simple Entry, lucky that it was a sparse arrangement. Can it be possible that opening these old files is bringing that old MIDI configuration with it and knocking out my piano?
These old files were produced on another system on which the MIDI was configured differently, and not by me. I wish I understood MIDI better. I always just have to play around with it until it works again.
Sigh.
