Hi: I'm using a non-keyboard mode of entry (simple entry) to Finale 2004b Windows. In producing piano scores for ragtime compositions I have frequent need to tie accidentalized notes that are in different layers, often (but not always) across a bar line. The same problem occurs in a single measure where the same accidentalized note occurs twice, each time in a different layer.
In order to get a correct playback, as has been noted here in another thread, it is necessary to accidentalize the second note. However, then a redundant accidental symbol appears in the score. I have been unable to figure out a way to hide the unwanted accidental symbol or to otherwise solve the problem. I've resorted to producing two scores, one optimized for the score, the other for playback. Any ideas on how to solve this problem and avoid the need for two scores would be appreciated.
