Why would you have to pass it through the printer twice? I print booklets on
my large format laser, and per side of the paper it only needs one pass
(naturally it needs two passes for duplex).
The Finale print dialog lets you print 2-up, and by setting the page order
here you can print booklets. If you have Fin2k3 Jari's booklet plugin helps
you to collect the pages in the correct order and add empty pages at the
end. In Finale 2k4b you can simply use Finalescript and tell it this:
1st pass:
print booklet n verso
2nd pass:
print booklet n recto

where "n" specifies the number of pages of your booklet (ie if your file has
13 pages you tell print booklet 16 verso/recto. It is not necessary to
create empty pages at the end.

You will have to set the Page setup for the printer to landscape and the
correct page size for double pages, eg A3. This is the printer's page setup,
not Finale's own Page Format, which should be left as is for your single
pages.

Beware: at least on the Mac you need 2k4b for this, as there was a bug in
Finalescript in 2k4 which printed the wrong page order.

It is also worth noting that you should define the page ranges for page
numbers as "2-0", rather than 2-999, otherwise you will get page numbers on
the empty pages at the end of the booklet.
You will also need to define the title page in Finale, or at least have an
empty first page if you want your music to start on the left page.
