As I mentioned in my earlier post, the ways in which Longhorn will "copy" Mac OS X that I hear about are almost entirely cosmetic UI stuff. I know very little of fundamental underpinnings, and if there's any connection there I'll have to leave it to you and Philip to debate.


In this respect, I think the distribution of my ignorance puts me closer to the typical user than you are. For 90% of computer users, I suspect, operating system is all about the look and feel. Popular comparisons of Longhorn with OS X will reflect that.
