Here is why: Imagine you are doing a thematic catalogue, which, due to certain limitations cannot be done directly in Finale. Using direct EPS export you can easily use the graphics tool to mark a part of a page and export that as EPS. This is infinitely easier than to use Acrobat (which also costs extra money, and which I don't own) to export whole pages and then crop them afterwards. Imagine the catalogue was to include more than 400 incipits. I really do not want to crop everyone separately after export.
