No!
There were times it worked. I have been using PS printers for about 15 years just because of Finale and EPS. In the beginning (2. 2 to 3.5, I'm not sure), it worked fine, and I could take music samples as EPS into word or a DTP program. Now, for a long time (7 years?) it has not been working fine. Sometimes I could work around using Adobe Type Manager and restrictive font usage, but with each new update I bought, I had to find out some workarounds to get it done, if it even could be done.
But it NEVER AGAIN worked as it should. I just want to select the graphics tool, select the portion I want to export as EPS, with preview, export it into Word or a desktop publishing program, scale it losslessly, print it using a postscript driver - voil! As it is mentioned in Finale Catalogues that describe the abilities...
I try each new version - I don't know exactly when it stopped workin for Finale Windows. Finale 98? Windows ME? I don't mind - once it worked and please make it work again.
OK... There are workarounds: Print to PDF, hope, import, crop, export, import, crop, scale... What the hell? This is STONEAGE...
And now, I try Sibelius. Export page as EPS, import to Word, no problem. Export symstem, import to Word, scale without resolution loss, no problem.
So WHAT? Windows XP problem? Font problem?
And then I read Finale 2004c will help BUT is only available for Macs - WHAT?
I am working at a book using hundreds (thousands?) of Finale samples; we will need to enlarge/reduce the pictures - so EPS is the first choice... and we need it NOW and for WINDOWS...
Sorry, I'm loosing my temper, but, what the heck, ten years is waiting long enough?!?!?
I am greatful for the interest this subject arises and all opinions - and hope Coda will - FINALE-ly - do something about it.
It would be a pity after 15 years or so to have to FINALLY switch to Sibelius witch seems to do what I want....
cheers
Kurt

By definition, if it's an issue with all versions of Finale, it's an issue with any particular version.
