Hi Allen,
I'd go with "en-tr'ou-vraient." (The apostrophe is archaic and has nothing to do with syllabification.)

All,
I'm engraving a French song at the moment from a questionable old edition.
The word "entr'ouvraient" is sprawled under 3 notes with no clue as to how
it is hyphenated (spacing is tight enough that hyphens do not show). I was
thinking entr'ou-vrai-ent, but that does not look right at all. Any help
from anyone with any skill in French would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Allen
