To the collective wisdom My other half (bless) is offering to buy me a new keyboard for inputting music into Finale on my Apple PowerBook (the 400MHz G3 USB/Firewire model). The specs of the Edirol PSR-A30 - i.e. USB data connection and power, audio and MIDI interface combined, lots of knobs and sliders for data manipulation, and small form size - makes it seem ideal for the job.
Has anyone had any experience of this equipment with Finale? Also, is it possible to hear _internal software instruments_ in real time by playing "thru" Finale, or only on playback? (My questions relate particularly to Finale 2003 and 2004 for Macintosh, but as this is a non-hardware specific item, I'd appreciate any response from PC-using gurus as well!!)
