Dear Listsibs,
Having complete control over page numbering style is good, of course, but it has always been a pain. I think it's time for a plug-in: "Easy Page Numbering" that lets you make all the decisions easily - something like this: (* = button; o = check box; N = number field)
* DEFAULT - Even numbers at upper left, odd at upper right
* Numbers centered at bottom of page
o Omit first page
Page number offset N
This gives the most common styles and conveniently allows for page offset. Those who wish some other style can set up numbering in the usual way.
I believe that what I call DEFAULT is set in the Maestro Default Font for Finale 2004c. I suppose this could be included in the Document Options in a later version of Finale.
What do you think?

BUT, if you want to have alternate page numbering, you need to create two text blocks, and define their Frame Attributes differently.
Actually, that's not really necessary, you can also use one textblock, with different positioning for even and uneven pages.

No, it doesn't change the justification for the different pages, so if you want the left pages left-justified, and the right pages right-justified, you do need two different text blocks.
Or am I missing something? When I select the Right Page Alignment and Postiioning and set it, the same text block, with the same justificatin merely alternates positioning on the two pages. Is there a way to get it to alternate the justification, too?
