I've just seen 2005 in action at the Texas Bandmasters Convention in San Antonio. As an aside, I can always count on seeing the new version there before an official announcement is made. What I've seen so far looks good. They claim to have corrected the speed problem in the Mac version (yes, they intend to release both at the same time), but they claimed ignorance of a speed issue on the PC side. I suggested they read their own forum.
Tuplets have been cleaned up--there should be quite a bit less tweaking needed to get them to look right. What I saw was pretty impressived on that issue. There are new percussion sounds and a marching percussion template that sets everything up for modern drumline complete with appropriate sounds (purchased from Row-Loff I think they said). The drumline sounds are very good. Text expressions are now accessible from simple entry, and I believe the keyboard mapping is now more Windows compliant.
I didn't have time to see much more than that, but I will, of course, upgrade based on what I saw. I was told it would be ready to ship by the end of August. The rumor was that they would have both versions on the same disk.
