Then, for the first part, can Robert Patterson's Page Mover do this (I'd tend to think so) and do you have it? If so, you'd need to set it up to do so, test it on one of the files, save the settings under a given name, say Reduce80, and then add to your script.

Make sure you have backup copies of all your files before running the script. And test it on one file before doing the whole batch.

Thanks for all that. I do have Page Mover, but frankly it sounds easier just to reduce each file as I edit it.
