This refers to the Cross-Layer Accidental Positioning bug I mentioned in an earlier email. Here's the reply I received today:

This is hardly an adequate response. There's no explanation as to why a bug newly introduced in Fin2k4b that I reported in March and that they acknowledged at that time hasn't been fixed, and no indication of when they intend to fix it. "Sorry" just doesn't cut it. Although I've upgraded every year for the last 4 years, I won't upgrade until this bug is fixed, as I have no desire to go back through all my old scores to check where accidentals might be misplaced. Very disappointing.

Agreed. I'm still on '03, and have followed the 04 sagas in this list. To have people turn round and say "nah, it still doesn't do what it should, sorry" is appalling. Is it tin-foil-hat territory to suggest that the '05 release is purely to keep the creditors and accountants happy, and that they couldn't have been expected to produce a decent upgrade in such a short time?
