the term "calentamiento" is widely accepted either for sports or any other activity.
in our country, Venezuela, we use it for anithing that has to do with
whaterver you do before you get down to whatever you are going to undertake.

What I have seen more often is "Ejercicios preparatorios", and does not
sound long in Spanish.
But if the "warm-ups" exercises is a sub-part of the total you could
perfectly add something like "calentamiento" as a subtitle. It sounds sort
of funny but okay, and of course everybody will understand it.

In any case "Estudios del calentamiento" seems to be talking about the
global heating. I would not use it.

Hope it helps a bit.

Hello List,
Hoping some of the Spanish speaking Finale-ers can
help me out with this. What would be an accurate
translation for "warm-ups"? (As in preparatory
excercises.)

From what I understand, the literal translation of

"estudios del calentamiento" is a little risque. I
could call the chapter "pr?ctica preparatoria", but
that seems to long and boring. Is there an accepted or
common Spanish term in use already, or should I feel
free to make something up that has more flair?
And since I'm asking, any suggestions for Italian,
French, and German?

gracias, grazie, merci, danke,

Ryan
