Equally mysterious... and guaranteed to mystify any who read it... which last time I looked was contrary to the purpose of writing music in the first place.
I am a rhythm section player who would be expected to read such nonsense, I know of what I speak. This person is a boob, and would be regarded as such by any qualified reader of the score. <<
I've never heard this tune, and am duplicating handwritten charts she has been using for some time. I assume she has been getting the results she wants. She does what appear to me to be very crazy things with form, too. Sometimes when I ask her why she has done something, I can get her to see that representing a form of, e.g., repeating measures and then jumping to a coda in a traditional manner is clearer than what she has written on the page, and sometimes she says that what she is really doing is trying to indicate that while they will follow a certain form, they are essentially making it up as they go along.
I'm trying to strike a sort of balance between just doing everything she writes down and telling her she doesn't know what she is doing. One never knows what other work one might pick up by having a good relationship with a client, right?
I will have to ask her what notes she means to be part of this chord.
