Hi Taris,
Are you talking about a bracket like what one would use for double stops?
If so, I have a shape expression like that set up in my template. It can be stretched to different sizes by double clicking on it's box.
The trick is then assigning a metatool to the shape expression. If you use a metatool to put a shape expression into a score, it creates a new occurrence of the shape but the new occurrence acts like an independent new shape. So you can resize the shape if need be (for double stops of different intervals for example) without it affecting all the other occurrences of that shape expression in your score. (As opposed to putting the shape into the score by selecting it in the expressions window...if you do it this way, whenever you resize the shape, it resizes all of the occurrances.) This way you don't have to recreate the shape each time you need a different size.
Also, I keep the option in the Expressions drop down menu set to Metatools:Context Sensitive. That way wherever I click when I'm using the metatools determines whether the expression is note attached or measure attached.
Best,
karen

Hey all!
I was wondering if there was any way to create a vertical line with jogs at the end (like a square bracket) that had adjustable length. I don't want to have to create a new expression every time I need it; some pieces would have over a dozen of them.
Thanks, Taris
