what you have to do is the following:from the file menue choose print>output options> [check] "save as file"(this will give you access to two options, pdf and postcript, choose postcript, then you will have a postcript file which you must open with distiller and convert to pdf , voila!

When you say "many" - is one specific font COMPLETELY substituted, or just certain carachters from a particular font?

Is it a postscript printer? You may be able to view the fonts onscreen because you have Macintosh TrueType fonts on your system, but the print routines do not have access to the Type 1 printer fonts. I'd check you have the Type 1's first of all.

Is there an option to include all fonts in the OSX Print Dialog? I've
got some PDF's I created from Finale files in OSX, and many of the
characters appear as rectangles instead of characters. I'm thinking I
need to include all fonts, but the option is not obvious to be found.
