Hi Brian,

Go to the apple menu and choose "About This Mac" Then click on More info...
Click on the triangle next to hardware (if the list of your hardware isn't already visible) and highlight ATA...you should be able to see your hard drive and CD drive listed. Is your machine seeing the CD in the drive?

The other thing that could be wrong is that you got a bad CD from Coda....

Also, the 800 mhz machines didn't come out until 2002 so if you bought Applecare, you would still be covered under that warranty should it turn out to be a problem with the drive.

Best,

Karen

For some strange reason, the hybrid Mac/Windows Finale 2005 CD-ROM will not
work in most if not all Mac Titanium G4 PowerBooks!

In 6/2001, I purchased a newly-released 800 MHz G4 Titanium PowerBook. This
is now considered an "older PowerBook G4 model" which Finale Tech Support
has told me will not be able to mount the hybrid Finale 2005 CD-ROM --
DESPITE the fact that the operating system and memory requirements of my
system are WELL within the guidelines!

The only work-around, they told me, is to find a friend who can copy the
files and burn me a new CD.

Has anyone else on the list experienced similar problems?
