OK OK OK.
Thanks to those of you who offered to look at my file
for the errant hyphen. I took a second look today and
I found the problem - indeed, it was a hyphen written
before a syllable (Ex. "-twink-le").

I copied the text in the Edit lyrics dialogue, and
pasted it into a MS Word document. I used the find
funtion in Word to look for the particular syllables
in question. Once I found it, I then went back to the
Lyric Dialoge and scrolled and squinted and searched
for the syllables. Now, all is well.

This particular piece is for two voices and piano.
(I've entered all the lyrics into Verse 1, so that
when the time came to correct something directly into
the score, I wouldn't have to switch around to try to
find the correct verse. I had done that in previous
documents and it wasn't very fun...) Anyway, since the
lyrics in question occur towards the end of the piece,
I figured that the lyrics in the Edit Lyrics dialogue
would be at the end as well.

But it is not so. Apparently, Finale organinzes the
first voice's lyrics first, then the second,
regardelss of the order in which you type them into
the score. And since I was looking for lyrics that are
given to the first voice, I should have been looking
towards the end of the first half of the lyrics in the
Edit dialogue, since everything at the end is actually
the 2nd voice's lyrics.

So, all's well. And, in my searching, I found and
fixed another syllable with a prepended hyphen. I'll
be eating some humble pie with my turkey on
Thursday...

Thanks again,
Ryan
