Actually, I think you are both right, sort of. The question is, is the click bar really measure 0, or is it in fact measure -1. It sort of doesn't really make sense to have measure zero in a time line. That could only refer to the barline between measure 1 and measure -1.

Just being silly here.;-)

That's not a problem; he's already described that "Measure Zero" is a
film-score click measure. The music itself doesn't start until Measure
One, and the zero bar is a pre-measure that exists solely for the
conductor, the director, and the audio editors.

It makes plenty of sense to me, but I do agree that any solution will
be kludgy at best.
