I have an example of JW participating as piano/harpsichord player on a Henry Mancini record entitled "Combo!" (RCA Victor) from the 1960's. Other players on the session include Pete Candoli (trp), Dick Nash (trb), Ted Nash (sax, flute), Art Pepper (clarinet), Ronnie Lang (bari sax), Bob Bain (gtr), Rolly Bundock (bass), Larry Bunker (vibes), Ramon Rivera (perc), Shally Manne (drums). Nice sounding cool arrangements of Mancini tunes and other material.
From this, I can tell you, JW certainly could 'jive' with the rest of this group.

Now THAT is a kickin' group! Gotta find that one.
And at least one of the tunes added to the "Jedi" soundtrack was pretty funky, if memory serves.
