Again, you're expecting everybody to use email in a particular way. And yes, I'm online plenty, but I'll still occassionally need to dash off an email before disappearing for the rest of the day. No chance of that, if everybody uses a challenge/response system.



I don't understand the indignant attitude of the people *initiating* the communication -- if you want to contact someone, why get in a hissy fit over a challenge/response system, the whole purpose of which is to insure that the recipient



The challenge system is just plain rude. It's like making a phone call, asking for John, and being met with "Who wants to know?"
